Frequently Asked Questions
Will it hurt?
Despite fears to the contrary the actual surgery which is usually done by a
combination of IV sedation and local anesthesia, is in all but rare instances, pain free.
Most people sleepthrough the surgery. If you should awake it is unlikely
you would feel pain as the areas are numbed. Post op it is not unusual to experience some
pain for the first 24 hours. You are given prescription pain killers which are sufficient
to control this.
How soon can I get back to work?
It depends on the procedure, but on an average most plastic surgery
patients are back to work within 7-14 days
Will everyone know?
It depends, many procedures are small changes that look "natural" and
often go relatively unoticed.
Friends, family may ask if you've been on vacation, dieting typically they won't know unless you tell them.
Will there be scars?
Dr Weikel, MD makes every effort to keep scars as minimal as possible and hides them in the natural lines and creases of your skin. Any scarring will also fade over time and generally becoming barely noticeable.
How long does it take?
Most procedures are performed in our Accredited and Registered day surgery facility and patients are able to return home later the same day.
What do I do next?
If you like to find out more, a consultation is the next logical step. It's quick, easy and its the only way to find out exactly what plastic surgery can do for you.
