Mini Facelift Boston

Early signs of aging often become noticeable as we reach mid-30s. Collagen production, a major contributor to facial youth, beings to slow down, and skin tends to loose elasticity causing wrinkles to become evident. A mini facelift can correct the early effects of aging and restore a more youthful appearance without addressing the underlying muscles, which require a longer recovery period. Addressing the early signs of aging at the beginning stages can reap great benefits.

General Technique
Once the area is numb, Dr. Weikel will make incisions behind the ears and proceed up into the hairline. The skin is elevated and gently redraped, providing a more taut appearance. Any excess skin will be removed. The incisions are then closed with fine sutures.

Once the procedure is completed, an ace bandage will be wrapped under the chin and around the top of the head. This should be worn for the first 48 hours. After that, the bandage should be worn at bedtime for the first week. Sleeping with the head elevated will aid the recovery process. Any discomfort may be relieved by the application of cold compresses and pain medication. Any temporary bruising can be camouflaged with makeup. Sutures are removed after one week, and any visible scars become very subtle over time. Most are able to return to work in seven to ten days.
